As the supporters of Proposition 8 so astutely pointed out, gay people getting married destroys the sanctity of existing straight marriages. And although we successfully stemmed the tide of marriage-destroying gay unions here in California, CNN is reporting that, by a vote of 39 to 20, Mexico City’s legislative assembly revised the city’s civil code to permit same-sex marriages.
We are fully engaged fighting the menace of divorce within, we can’t afford to be distracted by a burgeoning population of happily married gay couples looking to penetrate our southern border and taint our innocence.
That’s why I am proposing that we build a rainbow-colored wall to keep out the inevitable flood of gay Mexican couples who will come up here and take traditional marriages away from hard-working Americans. It will be a difficult task, though. For one thing, who do you think will build and/or decorate that wall?

Here’s the problem with gay marriage, and it has nothing to do with morals. Many functions of every day life are built on assumptions as to how many people get married. If you increase the number of married couples, it throws things off.
If you increase the number of married couples, then you increase the number of surviving spouses. This throws off pension plans, Social Security, and the like.
Consequently, if you increase the number of married couples, you increase the number of divorces. In a small rural county, this may not be a big deal. Get a large urban county, such as Los Angeles County, Cook County, Illinois (Chicago), or New York County (Manhatten), and the time it takes from filing of the the divorce petition to the final court order could go up, absent an increase in judges and support staff handling divorce cases.
Now, if society is willing to bear the added costs of gay marriage, that’s fine. But the discussion hasn’t touched on the costs, solely the morals.
That’s why we, here, want to put an end to legal divorce.
1. Gays know more about love than you could ever imagine, so divorces aren’t nearly as common among gay couples (check statistics in norway).
2. You’re suggesting we deny basic freedoms to people because of MONEY? Who are you? It’s a fucking government, they’ll figure it out.
Gay’s are human just like us, they are not special, they are the same as us. That is what they are saying, that they are just like us so why are you suggesting that they are special and know more about love? Therefore if they are the same as us then they will have the same problems as us and will get divorced. Further more Norway is a foriegn country chances are the divorce rate didn’t go up because norwiegn’s have a different philosphy on love. However over time that philosophy could change. You see the problem with the divorce rate in America and quite possibly elsewhere is that we take advantage of what we have. Reality television turns love into a joke. Divorce also has alot to do with weather or not the couple involved is willing to make their marriage work. and then there are other reason’s behind divorce as well for example abuse, drug addiction, cheating,money ect..ect.. I think after norway has had gay marriage for about a decade the divorce rate will go up because there will be new generations getting married that will take for granit what they have.

If you truly believe this to be the case, you should be against ALL MARRIAGE, not ONLY gay marriage but traditional “straight” marriage as well because whether the spouse is straight or gay there will be a widow, a widower, or a potential (or actual) divorcee.
Please THINK about what you are saying before you type it for the world to see. You will sound MUCH more intelligent that way (if, in fact, you are capable of sounding intelligent at all).

Gays already pay for everyone else to get these benefits, though. It’s stealing to tell us we have to pay for you to have marriage, and then deny us the same rights. It may cost you more… but we’re only 4% of the population, so it’s not very much at all really, and on top of that, like I said, we’re taxpayers too. Why should we be willing to pay for society when society isn’t willing to pay for us?

Really? Really? That is not throwing a “gay tantrum”. The bus driver called them sickos, and got in trouble for kicking two TEENAGERS off the bus. He would not have done that with a boy/girl couple, since it was the bus POLICY to not kick off minors, for any reason. It was very obviously his own prejudice that made him decide to ignore bus policy. The clip you presented shows a very small portion of what happened, the bus driver was in the wrong, and there would have been issues regardless of gender, because he was not supposed to kick minors off the bus.
As for the second thing you posted, good. It is about time they started putting in laws protecting transgenders. They have to deal with enough just coming to terms with who they are, its even worse when the world continues to incorrectly tell them they are wrong. At my school we had single stall bathrooms, I actually prefered them to multiple stall ones. I don’t think it is that big of a deal to install them in schools, and to make it mandatory to have at least one.
Though the child may not get an operation till they are 18, they still feel like they are the opposite gender then their body looks. Like that article said, forcing a transgender to use the bathroom that matchs their CURRENT biology is similar to forcing a girl to use it. We put to much stock in gender anyways. If we were to do reduce the amount of stock we put in gender we would be much better off.

Did you read the article. The article said that before the bill even came up a man dressed as a woman was arrested for peeping at women in a girls locker room. It sounds like this man confessed that he was parading as a transgender/cross dresser in order to get into girls locker rooms. If this bill is sent through without strict guidlines than any pervert could dress up as the opposite sex, peep at girls in locker rooms and if caught cry transgendered discrimination and get off scot free to do it again. That video you posted contained almost no info. So I did what any intelligent person would do, I went digging. I found multiple sites containing more information. Including Komo News. All said the same thing. The girls were only 14, and it was not the kissing that got them kicked off, it was one of them hugging the other in comfort after the bus driver started verbally abusing them that got them kicked out. That particular transit group’s policy states that what the girls did was not enough to get them ejected from the bus, especially since they were minors. The big deal is the violation of bus policy, and the placing of minors in danger.
Although if you would like to get into mocking news source sites, I can start in on the World Net Daily link you used about Transgenders. That site is know for lies, back peddling, false claims, bigotry, and even providing false and forged documents to prove their claims.
However, I will address your comments about Transgenders. First, why is having a bi transgender in the locker room any different then having just a BI in the locker room? Or a gay? Their sexual preference really shouldn’t be a factor, unless you would like schools to have lesbians in with the guys, a separate room for bis, and gay guys in with the girls. Which is just ridiculous. As for sexual predators abusing this, people will always abuse something. However, this is meant for schools. It is very rare for an actual sexual sadist (the type that would follow you home and harm you) to have 1)developed at that age, or 2) would take advantage of that, or 3) would accelerate that quickly. A true sexual sadist is generally more subtle about how and where they peep, and are unlikely to use a method like this because it wouldn’t feel safe to them.
Now onto the shower argument! Open showers actually have the capability of being traumatizing no matter the gender, who is in the bathroom, and who the person is. Revealing your body to others is generally an awkward thing, especially in such a hostile place as schools. I’d actually rather have a transgender boy who is awkward about her own body showering next to me, as opposed to another girl who may comment cruelly on any flaws I have. Just for fun. I think we should have curtains or stalls in showers, and in bathrooms.
To finish this, America is actually one of the most uptight first world, and second world countries when it comes to gender. There are several places in Europe and Asia where there are co-ed bathrooms and bathing areas. Feel free to research it a bit, and you will see VERY low statistics about these locations being abused by sexual predators. It is about time we jumped on the band wagon and opened ourselves up to change, growth, and acceptance of all.

We make it a big deal, and this causes issues. In countries that are open about sex and nudity, it isn’t a big deal, and the cases of attacks and perversion are lower. This is also true of sexual education and alcohol.

Look at massachusessets no accomodation is being shown for christian parents who do not want their children involved in diversity training but the board of education say’s it’s mandatory. I think it is in San franscisco or something like it in which they have a gay festival that puts vulgar display’s out in the open and make it hard for women and children to avoid it because it’s location is in the business district. They want accomodation for themselves but no accomodation for us. Despite popular belief, this is NOT a christian nation. Nor were our founding father strong believers in the christian church. Most were agnostic at BEST. So what does it matter what the bible says? We don’t follow that, we follow a constitution, one which states that all should have equal rights. Religion IS a personal matter, not a legal one, and not one which should be influencing the rights of all people, even those who don’t follow it.
Also, I’m going to assume from your answer that you have not talked to, nor know intimatly any transgender or non-gender people. Mebbe you should take off your blinders, take a look around, and talk to some of them. Find out how it feels to have people like you controlling your life, taking your rights away, when all you want is to be TRUE to yourself. My friend is currently going through the process. Where in the bible does God say pick and chose what the bible say’s? further more I’m sure there are more non christian sexual predators then pastors that are sexual predators. Further more being a pastor puts you at a higher risk of being accused weather or not you actually did something. That’s why alot of male pastors will not council women they will refer them to femal christian councilers. If you want to be precise I was so goal driven and perhasp a bit bitter and self centered that I did not have my first crush until the summer of my sophmore or junior year. until I went to see a production of Meet Me In St. Louis at a local community theater I had not met one man, not a single man that I was attracted to. The performance of the actor who played the boy next door and the fact that he shook my hand and talked to me made me instantly infatuated with the young actor who stared opposite the lead role. That is why I cannot fathom how there are twelve year olds that claim to be gay when I didn’t know what I wanted until I was in high school. not long ago I overheard a young man at school saying that he knew he was Gay at age eleven to me that’s not possible. That is why I am very wary of young highschool girls that tease their friends four and five year old siblings about having boyfriends and girlfriends. No wonder we have young people making such a bold decision because people push them towards love,at an age when they haven’t even begun to understand the meaning of the word and the many different kinds of love there are.

So when you take up cause against something like homosexuality in the name of the Bible while ignoring most of its other prescriptions which are violated constantly, you’re picking and choosing what is right and what is wrong, you’re judging others based on your own interpretation of it, and quite simply you’re being a horrible, immoral human being.

Joel most people fail to realize the connect the new testament has to the old. Jesus came to die on a cross for everyone to save us from our sins. He became the ultimate sacrifice so that we no longer have to make sacrifices to God, so that we no longer have to jump through hoops to please God, all we have to do is ask for forgivness and follow Christs example.

Different reasonable, religious, Christian people interpret the scriptures differently. You are welcome to believe in your truth, but please allow others to believe theirs. As far as the question of feeling sexuality at an earlier age than you experienced it, I hope you will see that this was your experience, but not everyone’s. Some people (gay or straight) are sexual at age 12 or so, others might not feel that until age 20. That’s the variation in people.
And that, for me, is just one example of the diversity among people as to how they are. Things like skin color, gender, intelligence, height, age of puberty, hair and eye color, sexual identity, disposition towards certain diseases, and much more are part of the genetic design, in some cases influenced or changed by later environmental and cultural forces. (Religion is a cultural and/or spiritual matter and not genetic.) I see the diversity of humans to be a blessing and not a curse.
which is why I struggle with which side to be on. it is easier to stick to what you know what the bible say’s rather than speculate what God meant. when it say’s in the bible that homosexuality is an abomination what does that mean for those who side with homosexuals? Would we suffer the same fate as them if we are wrong? Could this divide on homosexuality between denominations just be one more thing that will divide us when the lord returns or will our eye’s be opened to the truth and will everyone be able to accept that truth? If you were somehow able to experience some sort of vision in which it was revealed to you that your lifestyle was wrong would you still believe in God. Would you still put your faith in him and give up your old ways?
