SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California lawmakers narrowly advanced a bill Tuesday that would repeal a state law designed to find the causes and cures of homosexuality.
The law, written in 1950, classifies homosexuals as “sexual deviants” and requires the state Department of Mental Health to conduct research on “deviations conducive to sex crimes against children.” The research would be used to help identify potential sex offenders.

This is terrible, terrible news. The law to study and “cure” gay people was a perfectly logical reaction to a series of horrific sex crimes by straight people in the 1950s. And while research started off strong, it had tapered off in recent decades — especially after the death of Paul Lynde, the last known gay in captivity.
In recent years studies had mainly consisted of watching Will & Grace reruns and listening to house music. Scientists had hoped for an increase in funding this year so that they could throw a really glam Oscar party.
John Marcotte is a firm believer in traditional family values. He currently opposes government-funded death panels, Obama talking to children and MSNBC's entire prime-time line-up. 
Silly scientists don’t need state funding to know what causes the gay. It’s caused by the Catholic Church!
A few years ago, there was a report on military development of a gay bomb that was to be used to turn the enemy gay and make them so entranced with each other that they would not be able to fight. It stands to reason that if the military was developing such a weapon, they would also develop an antidote. Could it be that the military already has the capability to prevent homosexuality? And if so, why aren’t they using it to prevent homosexuality within their own ranks? Why are they sitting on this? What do they have to gain by keeping this secret? We need to press for answers of these questions. We need this research declassified for the advancement of our civilian populations.

One would just have to hope that if they found a “cure” for Homosexuality that they would not allow parents to use it on their children.
What? You’d actually prefer your child be gay? I would think that even the most liberal of parents would prefer that their child not have to endure the struggle that most gays have to bear. I know that if they could give my child a shot either at birth or during their normal immunizations, I would gladly get it so they could have a normal life.
My mom was always quite disappointed in me for turning out straight. Seriously. She was a professional ballet dancer in her youth, which meant she was around a LOT of gay guys, and she always thought they were smarter, funnier, and generally more interesting than straight guys. When I announced I was going to marry a woman, she was crushed. If she could have given me a shot at birth to guarantee I came out gay, she would have done it in a heartbeat. So don’t assume that all parents fit your preconceptions.

I am so upset, my 5 year old son told me today that he wanted to marry a boy. I loved him so much and to hear those words absolutely devastated me and my wife. Our only hope now is that the church can straighten him out. I hate to think about a future without him.
