Amber, the point is that if people are truly concerned about the sanctity of marriage and preserving the institution, they'll proscribe its greatest threat: Divorce. But of course they're not concerned about that. Their primary objective is making sure same-sex couples remain second-class citizens.

Steve, you state that "if all you pissed off gay-marriage supporters vote for it too, I think we can win!"
Why on earth would gay marriage supporters advocate for legislation created by people who fight to abolish equal marriage rights? That makes no sense.
And how would banning divorce "be a great benefit to society"? If one spouse is in an emotionally and/or physically abusive relationship and cannot legally get out of it, how is that beneficial to anyone?

Not quite the complete truth. We await final ruling from the courts to see whether further action is needed. I don't think we have received any donations recently and the shirt funds are going into the Rescue Marriage bank account for future activities.

I would say we are in hibernation right now as we wait for the courts to do their job.

I'm a couple years too late, but I believe what Peggy meant when she said that she admired those that learned English as a second language was that because of the complexities of the English language (like the subjunctive) that it was a feat for anyone to learn English at all...

Not that the commenter she was responding to must obviously be ESL...

Actually, how about a mandatory parting of the ways every 10 years with a 50/50 distribution of wealth and the possibility of remarriage for a small license fee after a minimum of 3 months. I wonder if couples would be more prone to stay together or to leave...
