Pat Robertson understands traditional values — perhaps better than anyone else. The conservative evangelical founder of the 700 Club knows that women should submit to their husbands, that God thinks that assassinating foreign leaders is OK and that evangelical Christians in the liberal United States are just like Jews in Nazi Germany.*

But Pat is a tolerant man. He spoke of the redemptive quality of God’s love when confronted with the evils of men having their timbers shivered by Jack Sparrow at Disney World during “Gay Days.”

I would warn Orlando that you’re right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don’t think I’d be waving those flags in God’s face if I were you, This is not a message of hate — this is a message of redemption. But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It’ll bring about terrorist bombs; it’ll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor.

It is precisely because of Pat’s stronger-than-average grasp of traditional values, that I was thrilled to find out that we were the lead news story on Pat’s Christian Broadcast Network! I was so excited that I could have kissed Pat — and maybe taken him for a trip on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

Our first national news coverage! While I was deeply offended by the sarcastic tone put forth by the news bunny, I think the most important thing was to get our ideas in front of a nationwide audience.

There isn’t much new content here, since they basically repackaged the News10 story and made it shorter. But now that the national media has seen the passion and righteousness of our cause, it’s only a matter of time before we’re on Face the Nation.

The local ABC affiliate News10 took time out from destroying the moral fabric of America with via the oversexed Jezebels of Desperate Housewives to conduct an interview with me about the 2010 California Marriage Protection Act.

Liberal elitist reporter George Warren tried to pigeonhole the entire anti-divorce movement as some sort of absurd joke, but despite his leading questions and out-of-context editing, I think our message got through.

“Free Republic” and “Democratic Underground” start discussing the initiative

Far right blog “Free Republic” and far left blog “Democratic Underground” have both begun debating the merits of the initiative today. Each site has its share of detractors and supporters, demonstrating that this is far from a partisan issue. Family values are important to everyone.

So we have synchronicity! An idea that cuts across ideological backgrounds and appeals to liberals and conservatives alike. Unfortunately, while we did garner support, there were also cynics in the crowd, who do not share our vision for a more values-based California.

It’s a ballot initiative. Some crackpot(s) think that even IF this gets approved by a majority of voters, it will survive a court challenge. It seems they may have gotten enough valid signatures to get it on the ballot. The wackos are crawling out of the woodwork.

Although I support the concept in principle, I don’t believe this is a serious push by a conservative group or Christian organization. It seems to me that this is more likely a stunt by bitter leftwing homosexuals…an answer of sorts to Prop. 8. These people think they can show that the real motivation behind Prop. 8 wasn’t the protection of marriage but rather the hatred of gays. At least that seems to be their theory of operation on this…

I’d like to assure “The Unknown Republican” that nothing could be further from the truth. I know that the real motivation of the people who supported Prop 8 was to protect traditional marriages, which is why I’m sure their support for protecting traditional marriage will not change — even if this time it’s their own rights that are being curtailed.
