In typical liberal media fashion, the press has decided to focus on unimportant issues like “ethics” and “hypocrisy” rather than the fact that Duvall received a perfect 100% ranking on Family Values issues from the Capitol Resource Institute. And absolutely no credit was given to Duvall for protecting three different traditional marriages as they struggled with the difficult subject of infidelity.

On top of that, in parts of the tape, Duvall voiced his support of the traditional family value of corporal punishment. He mentioned he enjoyed spanking one of the married female lobbyists because — as she readily admitted — she was a “bad girl.”

Duvall, a staunch Republican, has opposed all efforts to extend the institution of marriage to gay people — presumably because such indecent sexual activity would set a bad example for his two children.

I say we need more good men like Michael Duvall promoting traditional values in Sacramento.

Marriage equality advocates from across the state hoping to repeal Proposition 8 in 2010 met last weekend in San Francisco to adopt a structure for a statewide signature gathering campaign and elect an interim leadership team to develop a political action committee.

In 2009, California passed the “California Protection of Marriage Amendment,” or “Prop 8.” Proposition 8 bravely protected the institution of traditional marriage by making sure that gay people could not participate in it.

I loved Proposition 8, but felt it did not go far enough. So fresh from the office of our legal counsel, I present the 2010 California Protection of Marriage Act.

SECTION 1. Title. This act shall be known as the “2010 California Marriage Protection Act.”

SECTION 2. Section 7.6 is added to Article I of the California Constitution, to read:

No party to any marriage shall be restored to the state of an unmarried person during the lifetime of the other party unless the marriage is void or voidable, as set forth in Part 2 of Division 6 of the Family Code.

We will be filing the papers to get it on the ballot within the week.
